 | Established in 2000 by CCPL along with the other major cooperative enterprises of Reggio Emilia, Boorea operates in several areas. These include the sphere of social solidarity, where Boorea also supports initiatives promoted by other bodies and institutions; cooperative development projects, where it subscribes to fund-raising initiatives and those dedicated to economic growth and job finding; culture and research by financing initiatives concerning issues of particular interest for the cooperative world and by promoting cultural events, research and seminars plus internationalization of the cooperative associates, especially in non-European countries or ones that are not members of the Union and by promoting the cooperative world abroad.
In detail:
- Boorea has organized initiatives able to support the associate enterprises in new markets (like those of East Europe and South Africa) considered to be of strategic interest for the cooperative movement of Emilia;
- in collaboration with the local institutions, the Regione Emilia Romagna department and non-governmental organizations, Boorea has worked on important decentralized cooperative projects including fund-raising for supporting small farming enterprises in Mozambique (Xai Xai area), social reintegration projects for Brasilian and Bolivian street children as well as other projects centered on the children of countries like Romania, Palestine and Peru;
- Boorea continues to promote research, studies and publications about the history, values and development goals of the cooperative movement in Italy and abroad through partnerships with universities and publishing companies.
