In 2002, CCPL established the European Association of Cooperative Groups (ECG), an organization that intends to promote the Cooperative Groups more efficiently throughout the continent. The purpose of this association is to encourage internationalization processes and raise the level of competitiveness so as to increase the critical mass by coordinating the action of the Cooperative Groups situated in Europe. Besides CCPL, the ECG associates include a further 6 European Cooperative Groups: Mondragòn Corporaciòn Cooperativa (MCC, Spain), Consorzio Nazionale della Cooperazione Sociale Gino Matterelli (CGM, Italy), Groupe Crédit Mutuel-CIC (GCM, France), Groupe Crédit Cooperatif (GCC, France), Consorzio Nazionale Servizi (CNS, Italy) and Asociaciòn para la Cooperaciòn de la Economìa Social (Grupo ASCES, Spain).
